There are a lot of benefits of using automation at home to control the temperature especially when we are talking about comfort and convenience. One of the most important advantages that come with the implementation of automation at home to control the temperature is comfort.
There are many systems that are available now in the market which let us control the temperature at home and most of them are air conditioning units. Thermostats can also be used in monitoring and controlling the environment inside a house. There are also programmable thermostats wherein you can automatically set the temperature with just a click of a button.
Another important thing that comes with the use of automated home temperature control systems is that we are able to save on energy.
For example, if the temperature outside the house is already cool, the automated temperature control system will automatically adjust the temperature inside the house by either shutting the air conditioning units off or lowering their temperatures.
You can also program automated temperature control system to automatically turn off when you are already sleeping. This way you will be able to save a lot of energy thus saving your more money.
In today’s time, it is important that we take full advantage of what technology has to offer so that we may also be able to contribute to the betterment of our ecosystem. Out environment today is being filled by pollution which causes the global phenomenon what we call global warming.
If we do not do anything to stop this, our grandchildren will be the ones who will suffer the consequences – the future generations.
So in order to do something about the issue, it is highly recommended that you implement automation at home in controlling the temperature – not only you will be able to save energy but you will also be able to save more money.

In the video the thermostat is located 60″ above the floor, but I believe it should be 48″. Could someone confirm the proper height a thermostat is to be located? I’m from Vancouver BC, Canada and am having a hard time getting an answer. Thanks.
Loved it! I can do that myself, and I’m a girl!
ahhhhhhhhh, the beauty of youtube —
i was about to replace the whole unit cuz of my ignorance.
turns out all i had to do is change the batteries to make the unit work. lol

does anyone know where the wires need to be connected if you do not know what letter they were on?
last time i tried to install one of these i forgot to mark the wires……long story short….carrier guys came out and installed a new system cause i shorted out something major! old units were 15 years old anyways….live and learn.
I hate digital thermostats. I mean, I took calculus in school, but I can never get my digital thermostat to work!
I would have left the old thermostat. I have a regular non programmable thermostat. When I get up, I turn the heat up, when I leave, I turn it down. When I get home, I turn it back up, then back down when I go to bed. I am saving money, and saving even more because I am not spending MORE money on a programmable thermostat that is not needed.
@mikebrady01 yup
Saving energy is the first priority. It is not only good foor the environment, but a lower tempretature is also more healthy
I guess if the wires fall behind the wall, you’re screwed, huh?
Thanks for posting this video. My brother is tired of doing handy work for me, so I’m gonna tackle this one myself!!
thanks home depot for the tip
